Two Spengler Nathanson Partners Are Certified Specialists in Family Relations Law

Patricia Hayden Kurt and Stephen Szuch have satisfied the requirements to be named as Certified Specialists in Family Relations Law by the Ohio State Bar Association. Very few attorneys in the Toledo area have achieved this designation.
To become a Certified Specialist in Family Relations Law, attorneys must satisfy multiple requirements, including establishing a substantial involvement in the practice of family law; providing multiple references from attorneys and judges substantially involved in family law and familiar with the applicant’s abilities; and passing a written examination.
We would like introduce you to our two Certified Specialists:
Patricia Hayden Kurt heads up the firm’s Family Law Section. She concentrates her practice in all areas of family law, including divorce, dissolution, custody, visitation, child support, spousal support, parentage, grandparents’ rights, adoption, domestic violence, name change, and all juvenile court proceedings, primarily private custody and grandparent cases. Patty is a Certified Mediator, Parenting Coordinator and serves as Guardian ad Litem in family law cases. She was a former Assistant Public Defender for 16 years representing clients in criminal matters in Municipal and State courts.
Steve Szuch is a native of the Toledo area attending Perrysburg Schools and graduated from St. John’s Jesuit High School in 1998. He has helped clients in all areas of family law, including divorces and dissolutions, custody issues, adoptions, and domestic violence issues. He also acts as a Guardian ad Litem for children in family law cases. As a young professional in the Toledo area, Steve looks forward to many years of helping the Toledo community and growing within the firm.
