Sarah Skow Selected for Statewide Community Service Award
December 4, 2015
The Ohio State Bar Foundation selected Sarah Skow as the 2015 recipient of the Statewide Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 & Under. As the daughter of a judge, Sarah understands that the bedrock of democracy is the rule of law. As a lawyer at Spengler Nathanson, she knows to litigate complex business transactions with integrity. As a volunteer in the community, she realizes great personal wealth supporting a variety of local organizations through pro bono work for victims of domestic violence, putting up siding for a Habitat for Humanity Home, and volunteering for Mobile Meals of Toledo.
Sarah aptly describes her experiences as follows: “When I wield a hammer at a Habitat home or staff a table at a fundraising event, I am living Margaret Mead’s words: ‘Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that has.'”
As a board member for the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo, The Children’s Theater Workshop, the Toledo Botanical Gardens Arts and Culture Committee, and a Circle 2445 member at the Toledo Museum of Art, Sarah connects with dedicated people in the arts to make a difference in her community. Sarah’s involvement as President of the Toledo Women’s Bar Association and as a member of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Advisory Board displays a deeply held conviction of living a passionate life in service of others.
Congratulations Sarah!
